Barrette annonce la création de 2 100 lits supplémentaires
Le ministre de la Santé a annoncé une enveloppe de 100 millions $ de budget récurrent afin d'améliorer la fluidité entre les établissements de santé. L'objectif est encore d’essayer de désengorger les urgences, cette fois en ouvrant plus de lits. - 07/12/2016

Les facultés de pharmacie de l'Université Laval et de l'Université de Montréal s’inquiètent de la crise qui persiste entre Québec et les pharmaciens communautaires. La négociation ardue avec le gouvernement au sujet de la rémunération des pharmaciens met en péril, selon elles, la formation de la relève en pharmacie. - 07/12/2016
Une publicité de l’OIIQ jugée «outrancière» par la FMOQ
Dans un éditorial, le président de la FMOQ a vivement critiqué une publicité de l'OIIQ intitulée «Pas toujours obligé de voir le médecin». L’OIIQ répond pour sa part que l'objectif n'était pas de s'attaquer aux médecins, mais d'interpeller le gouvernement pour qu’il reconnaisse davantage les compétences des infirmières. - 06/12/2016
Étude de l'Hôpital Général de Vancouver: la chirurgie de la colonne vertébrale assistée par ordinateur améliore les résultats et est économique
Une étude menée par des chirurgiens de la colonne vertébrale de l'Hôpital Général de Vancouver a montré que la chirurgie assistée par ordinateur (CAO), à l'aide d'un dispositif d'imagerie peropératoire et d'un système de navigation tridimensionnelle, améliore les résultats et représente un avantage économique pour le système de santé. - 06/12/2016
Un pédiatre se suicide au CHU Sainte-Justine
Le Dr Alain Sirard, pédiatre, a été retrouvé mort au CHU Sainte-Justine, où il exerçait. Il faisait l'objet d'une enquête du Collège des médecins du Québec. Par ailleurs, l'établissement venait juste de clore son enquête, et une décision dont on ne connaît pas la teneur avait été prise à huis clos par au conseil d'administration. - 05/12/2016
L'acharnement du gouvernement à l'égard des pharmaciens dépasse l'entendement
«Plutôt que de reconnaître la valeur ajoutée des pharmaciens et travailler à l'amélioration des soins de première ligne aux patients, le ministre de la Santé préfère s'acharner sur eux et sur la pharmacie communautaire. Mais avec quel objectif au juste? Nous cherchons en vain à comprendre la motivation de Gaétan Barrette tout comme le silence troublant du premier ministre.»
