Après trois ans marqués par d’importants problèmes liés à l’implantation et à la mise au point du projet-pilote, le Dossier de santé de Québec se met finalement en route dans la région de Québec, mais à petite vitesse.
Les Drs Bernard Thibault et Peter Guerra, cardiologues électrophysiologistes à l’Institut de cardiologie de Montréal, ont implanté un nouveau type de stimulateur cardiaque sans fil.
Le Pr Guy Paré se veut rassurant: « Le milieu médical n’est pas plus résistant qu’un autre par rapport aux nouvelles technologies. » selon lui, il suffit de mettre l’accent sur l’augmentation de la qualité des interventions cliniques et la continuité des soins pour attirer les médecins.
Le Dr Michel Hébert a beau ne pas aimer l’informatique, grâce à lui quelque 1000 médecins de plus au Québec s’en servent tous les jours dans leur pratique.
