Diabète: restriction du remboursement des bandelettes en avril
Dès le 21 avril prochain, le nombre de bandelettes remboursables annuellement sera limité en fonction du type de médicament antidiabétique utilisé par le patient, comme le recommandait un rapport de l’Institut national d'excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS) sur l’usage optimal des IPP, publié en mai dernier. - 16/02/2017

Projet de loi 130: guerre froide entre le ministre de la Santé et la présidente de la FMSQ
Le projet de loi 130 est «inutile» et contient nombre de dispositions irrecevables, a fait savoir la Dre Diane Francœur, peu encline au dialogue, devant la Commission de la santé et des services sociaux. Pour le ministre Gaétan Barrette, il est temps que les médecins comprennent que la collaboration ne peut se faire autrement que dans un cadre spécifique. - 15/02/2017
Un vaccin plus efficace contre le zona sera bientôt disponible
Avec le vieillissement de la population, les cas de zona sont appelés à se multiplier. On estime qu'une personne âgée sur deux sera touchée par cette maladie. Le seul vaccin disponible actuellement présente une efficacité limitée. Un autre vaccin beaucoup efficace est cependant à l’essai, et les médecins s’attendent à ce qu’il soit offert prochainement au Canada. - 14/02/2017

Projet de loi 130: les médecins de famille ne veulent pas devenir de «simples exécutants»
La Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec a fait part au ministre de la Santé de ses «préoccupations» concernant plusieurs articles du projet de loi 130. Son président, le Dr Louis Godin, a notamment demandé le retrait de l’article 7, qui associe des obligations de travail en première ligne à l’exercice des privilèges en établissement. - 14/02/2017

Santé Canada affirme qu'un examen de l'innocuité a montré un risque de brûlures graves lié à l'usage de certains analgésiques topiques en vente libre contenant du menthol.
